Effective December 1, leading intellectual property firms AA Thornton and Venner Shipley will unite under the Venner Shipley name, forming a combined firm with 230 professionals.

This merger integrates the complementary strengths of both organizations across practice areas and client bases, enhancing their ability to address complex legal challenges and protect innovation. Clients will benefit from an expanded range of services and expertise, underscoring the firm’s shared commitment to delivering market-leading solutions and driving future growth.

The firm will operate from six UK offices, as well as through pan-European operations in Germany and Spain, to provide a full IP service of patent, trade mark, design, copyright and litigation services.
