Colleagues at Ellisons Solicitors are developing a fantastic range of new skills thanks to an innovative new programme that focuses on their personal and professional development whilst supporting career progression.

Ellisons Solicitors, which has offices across Essex and Suffolk, launched the Ellisons Academy at the beginning of the year to nurture internal talent, no matter their position at the firm, and give them every opportunity to grow.

Offering a total of six modules (with varies training sessions and seminars within each module), colleagues learn about a variety of skills from customer service and effective communication to advanced financial management. They’re also developing their coaching and mentoring skills so they can go on to provide support to their colleagues, as well as learning how to manage their wellbeing on a day-to-day basis.

So far since its launch, almost half of all 252 colleagues have signed up to attend the Academy module most relevant for them.

Ellisons Academy is meeting a long-term ambition of Managing Partner, Guy Longhurst, who said it was important for every team member to benefit from the experiences and knowledge available to them.

He said: “At Ellisons, we work as one team, so it was important for our new Academy to be accessible to all colleagues, no matter what area of the business they work in. All colleagues are highly valued here at Ellisons; we can’t do what we do without every single one of them, so clear career paths and support for lawyers and business support professionals are the priority for us all.
