Forbes Solicitors hosts PILS and Law Society President as it promotes Preston as a centre of legal excellence.

Forbes Solicitors welcomed the President for the Law Society of England and Wales, I. Stephanie Boyce, along with the Preston Incorporated Law Society (PILS) to its new offices in Preston as it continues to support the city’s standing as a centre of legal excellence.

The Lancashire-headquartered law firm, which works with clients across the region and nationally, hosted the latest meeting of PILS on Tuesday 20 September. The society’s committee, including Craig MacKenzie from Forbes Solicitors, discussed initiatives and events to help promote the development of Preston’s lawyers and wider legal community.

PILS was established in 1834 and represents the interests of those working throughout the legal profession in Preston. The society is planning a series of networking events over the coming months to bring professionals together and share best-practice.

Craig MacKenzie, a partner and head of the high profile and private crime division at Forbes Solicitors, said: “It’s a privilege to be involved with the Preston Incorporated Law Society and to be able to discuss our plans with Stephanie Boyce – an inspiring and hugely experienced member of the legal profession. PILS plays such an important role in helping encourage the local development of legal talent and forging links that extend out of Preston across the UK.”

The Law Society of England and Wales is the independent professional body for solicitors. In 2021, Stephanie Boyce became the 177th person, the sixth female, the first Black office holder, the first person of colour and the second in-house solicitor in almost 50 years to become the society’s president.
