Rollits Hosts Breakfast and Best Practices Session for Charity and Education Sector Leaders

Experts from Rollits LLP will address critical issues affecting the charity and education sectors in their upcoming series of free breakfast briefings. The Hull and York-based law firm will host three sessions for each sector, offering insights relevant to both fields.

The charity briefings will commence on Wednesday, October 16, with a presentation by Gerry Morrison, Partner and Head of Charities, and Senior Solicitor Harriet Wheeldon. They will discuss strategies for managing serious incidents within charities and preventative measures.

The second charity briefing is scheduled for Wednesday, February 12, 2025, focusing on the legal responsibilities of charity trustees concerning data protection. The final session on April 30, 2025, will cover practical steps for charities to reduce and manage risks involving staff and volunteers.

In the education sector, the first breakfast briefing will be held on Thursday, November 7, featuring James Peel and Ed Heppel from Rollits’ Education team, along with Sarah Young of Young Plus Ltd. This session will address the challenges of smartphone usage and its implications for social media, covering risks for schools, colleges, and other stakeholders.

The second education briefing on Thursday, January 30, 2025, will focus on effective governance and support for board members and trustees. The final session, scheduled for Thursday, April 3, 2025, will explore the topic of menopause in the workplace.

All briefings will be held at Rollits’ office on High Street, Hull, with charity briefings running from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM and education sessions from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
