CQS Courses to Support Conveyancers and Legal Professionals Launched By Access Legal

Conveyancers and legal professionals can now better maintain their Conveyancing Quality Scheme, CQS accreditation through new CQS courses offered by Access Legal. The company, a leading provider of software and services to the legal market, is one of the few approved CQS training providers, alongside The Law Society.

As the legal sector faces ongoing challenges in 2025, including cybersecurity, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, and talent retention, it is crucial for professionals to stay up-to-date with the latest tools and knowledge. Upcoming changes, such as the UK’s new cyber incident reporting law, will require firms to implement stricter compliance standards.

The new courses, available from 20 January, include updates on AML risk factors and mitigation, as well as in-depth training on conveyancing practices and the latest requirements under the Leasehold & Freehold Reform Act.

The courses are mandatory training for conveyancers to maintain their CQS accreditation, and demonstrate a firm’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality residential services and advice to their clients. Data from last year’s CQS Update courses shows that 6,000 practitioners completed their training with Access Legal in 2024, and gave it an average rating of 4.5 out of 5.

Access Legal’s CQS training portal also has a new look for 2025, with policy templates and bite-sized training modules included, which professionals can complete at their convenience.

Brian Rogers, regulatory director at Access Legal, part of The Access Group, says the new courses will help prepare law firms for changes and prominent challenges in the legal sector in 2025: “Our updated CQS training ensures firms are prepared to navigate these changes with confidence, equipping them to address critical areas like risk management and AML compliance. Beyond just meeting the accreditation requirements, the courses are designed to support professionals in providing high-quality legal services.

“Customers who have used our training will already notice a new user interface, making the training process more flexible and engaging. By combining expert-led content with practical resources, like policy templates and snackable modules, the courses help simplify compliance with CQS standards.”

Launched in April 2021, Access Legal is part of The Access Group, one of the largest UK-headquartered providers of business management software. 3,500 UK law firms currently benefit from Access Legal’s range of software solutions and its client portfolio includes The MAPD Group, Minster Law, Winn Solicitors, Biscoes, Wolferstans and Neves Solicitors LLP.
