Collyer Bristow promotes Dan McCarron to Partner in its latest promotion round

Leading law firm Collyer Bristow has announced the promotion of Dan McCarron to Partner in the Commercial Real Estate department. Dan’s promotion was effective from 1 June 2022.

Dan has been made up to Partner in the Commercial Real Estate team. He has broad experience in all areas of commercial real estate, with particular specialism in real estate investment, retail, industrial and development work. He is well known and regarded for his collaborative and hands-on approach, ability to resolve complex legal issues, and his exceptional service delivery.

He joined Collyer Bristow in 2019 from Eversheds Sutherland and previously Reed Smith. As Partner, Dan will continue to focus on supporting new and existing clients with their transactions following COVID-19 and the resulting shake-up of the commercial real estate sector.

The significant societal changes resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic has had a direct impact upon real estate sector. Landlords are now re-gearing leases on a turnover basis while also following non-typical lease structures such as property management agreements. Residential development is also growing at a very quick rate with individuals accepting they need more space, and with office working moving to a hybrid model, many assets will need repurposing as opportunities to do so present themselves.

Dan’s promotion takes the number of Partners in the Commercial Real Estate team to six, leading the busy team on matters relating to these and other post-COVID issues, and the full breadth of real estate instructions, working alongside colleagues in the firm’s Real Estate Litigation and Residential Property teams.

Commenting on the promotion, Michael Grace, Head of Real Estate at Collyer Bristow said: “Dan is an exceptional lawyer with huge amounts of energy and is enormously passionate about what he does.  He is extremely well regarded by clients for his expertise and commercial approach to resolving complex issues. Dan has made a significant contribution to the firm and we are always delighted to recognise the talent we have, which is no better rewarded than by a promotion to partnership.  Dan will assist Collyer Bristow in the development and growth of its Commercial Real Estate Team.  We are delighted that he will be supporting our growth from his new position as partner.”
