Blacks Solicitors Enhances Commercial Law Division with New Hire

Blacks Solicitors has strengthened its commercial law division with the appointment of Trainee Solicitor Daisy Jackman, who has completed her training contract at the firm and gained experience across various legal areas.

Daisy’s addition comes in response to the growing demand for the firm’s commercial law expertise and aligns with its long-term expansion goals. The team has experienced substantial growth in recent years, serving over 70 clients in the last financial year, 30 of whom were new to the firm.

Daisy joined Blacks in 2021 as a Paralegal and later completed her training contract, gaining exposure in Private Wealth & Succession, Real Estate, Commercial Dispute Resolution, and Corporate and Commercial teams. She qualified as a Solicitor in the Corporate and Commercial teams in 2024.

In her new role, Daisy will handle various commercial responsibilities, including franchise and distribution agreements, consultancy agreements, and reviewing and drafting terms and conditions. Commenting on her appointment, Daisy expressed her excitement: “I’m thrilled to join the Commercial and Corporate teams after having the opportunity to grow with the firm over the past three years. I look forward to my future with Blacks and gaining further experience.”

This expansion follows the recent promotion of Pete Konieczko-Hansom to Legal Director and Head of the Commercial and Intellectual Property (IP) team. Pete brings extensive knowledge of commercial and corporate law and a passion for IP matters, underscoring the firm’s commitment to nurturing internal talent and ensuring the ongoing development of its Commercial team.

Pete Konieczko-Hansom, Head of the Commercial team, shared his enthusiasm about Daisy joining: “The Commercial team has had a promising start to 2024. We’ve seen a significant rise in instructions and are delighted to welcome Daisy. Her arrival comes at an exciting time for both the Commercial team and Blacks as a whole.”

The Commercial team boasts over 25 years of collective experience advising businesses on various commercial matters, including business advisory, commercial agreements, IT and software licensing, management buyouts, intellectual property, and share sales or purchases.

Blacks remains dedicated to delivering exceptional legal services while fostering a supportive environment for employees to reach their full potential.
