Freeths Advises Vesper Infrastructure Partners on Investment in EAG Bioenergy

National law firm Freeths has advised Vesper Infrastructure Partners on its partnership with OrbeNovo Capital, enabling Vesper to become the majority investor in EAG Bioenergy.

Established in 2022 and headquartered in Milan, Vesper is an independent advisory and investment firm focused on sustainable, decarbonised infrastructure. EAG Bioenergy, a developer and operator of bioenergy projects, supplies biogas and biomethane to the grid, generating renewable heat, electricity, and gas for both residential and commercial use.

This investment will enhance EAG’s operational capacity and support its growth through mergers, acquisitions, and organic expansion across the UK and Ireland.

Freeths worked alongside Herbert Smith Freehills on this transaction, leading due diligence and engaging Arthur Cox to advise on aspects related to Northern Ireland. The Freeths team was led by Partner and Head of Clean Energy Clare King, with Senior Associate Reece Ballett, Partner Ben Derrington, Directors Kirstin Roberts and Coralie Mckeivor, Senior Associates Veena Velani, Edward Peel, Helen Mitcheson, and Legal Assistant William Alcock. Arthur Cox’s team was headed by Real Estate Partner Alastair Todd, with support from Cahal Carvill, David White, and David Greatorex.

Clare King commented, “We’re delighted to have supported Vesper in this investment and look forward to seeing EAG’s continued growth. It was a pleasure to collaborate with the teams at Vesper, Herbert Smith Freehills, and Arthur Cox on this project and future ventures.”
