Browne Jacobson hires seven to bolster Manchester professional indemnity practice

Browne Jacobson has expanded its Manchester professional indemnity practice by recruiting a seven person team led by Jason Nash and supported by partner Michael Appleby. Jason joined Browne Jacobson last month ahead of the other members of the team.

In addition to Jason and Michael, Browne Jacobson have also recruited senior associates Gemma Stewart and Katie Connell, associates Mark Wimbleton and Beth Anderton and legal assistant Lewis Whittaker. By taking on this team from BLM, Browne Jacobson now has one of the largest specialist professional indemnity teams in Manchester.

The recent hires into the firm’s Manchester office is driven by a period of significant growth for the firm’s Financial and Professional Risks Group which has seen it grow by more than 60% per cent since 2018.

The arrival of the team also follows a period of sustained growth for the firm’s 103 strong Manchester office which has more than doubled in size since 2018.

Jonathan Newbold, Head of Financial Services & Insurance at Browne Jacobson, said:

“These significant strategic appointments will transform our professional indemnity practice in the North West overnight.

“It is testament to our commitment to investing in high quality teams to provide a first – rate service for our clients and to grow our practice, both regionally and nationally.”

Jason Nash, added :

“I am delighted to welcome Mike and the team to Browne Jacobson. Having worked with them over many years, they are a natural fit for our firm and will significantly enhance our credentials in the North West. Their arrival is a real statement of intent and will allow us to support our clients in the North West, as well as enhancing our national professional indemnity practice.”
