New solicitor joins expanding team at Lanyon Bowdler

An award-winning law firm has strengthened its dispute resolution team in Shropshire with the appointment of a new solicitor.

Nicola Davies has joined Lanyon Bowdler’s Telford office after building considerable experience in agricultural matters, including rights of way, contract disputes and proprietary estoppel claims.

Nicola qualified as a solicitor while working for a previous law firm – an appointment  which followed a return to university to study law as a mature student having originally read Archaeology and Ancient History some years ago.

Andrew Pegg, head of Lanyon Bowdler’s dispute resolution team, said: “We needed to expand our team due to the ongoing growth of our client-base and are delighted to have Nicola on board to help us meet this demand.

“Nicola has extensive experience within the dispute resolution field – her chosen area of expertise and we wish her well in her new role, she is already proving to be a valuable member of the team.”

Nicola, who is a member of the Agricultural Law Association, said: “I am excited to join Lanyon Bowdler, which is a highly respected law firm across Shropshire, Herefordshire and North Wales.

“We have a wide client base and I am looking forward to advising clients on their varying litigation matters.

“Prior to joining Lanyon Bowdler I worked for a firm of solicitors who specialised in agricultural law and was fortunate enough to gain experience in the private client, dispute resolution and the property departments – all of which has led to me retaining a keen interest in agricultural matters.

“Some of my experience includes dealing with rights of way and tenancy disputes, proprietary estoppel claims and general contract matters.

“I also have the benefit of being local, having grown up on the family farm on the Shropshire/Welsh border, meaning I have a keen understanding of the issues faced by farmers and rural landowners and tenants.

“I am also excited by the prospect of helping and advising National Farmers’ Union members.

“Lanyon Bowdler was recently appointed to the NFU Legal Panel for the fourth time in succession – meaning we are able to continue providing specialist advice to NFU members across Shropshire, Staffordshire and Herefordshire.”

Nicola can be contacted on 01952 456319 or through the website at www.lblaw.co.uk.
