Glaisyers ETL acquires stake in a crypto fraud firm

Glaisyers ETL has acquired a minority stake in a firm that specialises in crypto fraud.

Wealth Recovery Services (WRS) was established last year by solicitor Josh Chinn and operations director Richard Irving in a bid to trace and recover money lost to crypto schemes.

Bar Standards Board-regulated WRS traces does this by using software deployed by the FBI.

In its first year of trading, the seven-strong team recovered more than £2 million on behalf of individuals who had lost money as a result of negligent or fraudulent investment schemes.

David Jones, executive partner at Glaisyers ETL, joins the board of WRS. The business has also relocated from John Dalton Street in Manchester to Glaisyers ETL’s headquarters a short distance away at 1 St James’s Square.

Jones said, ‘In a short time WRS have established themselves as the leading firm in their field, and I am really excited to welcome them into the Glaisyers.”

The deal value was not disclosed.
