National law firm Clarke Willmott LLP has advised on the acquisition of a Cumbrian care home by a care group that owns and operates homes across the North.
Croft Avenue Care Home in Penrith – which provides nursing and personal care for up to 30 people aged over 65 and has specialist services for those living with dementia – has been acquired by LP Healthcare Group.
Kim Klahn, corporate partner at Clarke Willmott in Birmingham, advised new owner Kim Rogerson on the deal.
She worked with Christies Finance on the funding of the transaction, which also involved Bank North, while David Lovelock, an associate in the commercial property team, advised on the property aspects.
“Kim has a passion for the care home industry and wants to deliver excellent services to the residents at the homes the group operates. The purchase of this home adds to her portfolio,” says Kim Klahn.
Kirill Bingham, client partner at Clarke Willmott, added: “We were privileged to play a small part in growing Kim’s portfolio and know that it will go from strength to strength.
“Kim being in the North West, and our team being based across our offices, demonstrates Clarke Willmott’s ability to deliver high calibre services across the country, as well as our expert knowledge in this specialist sector.”
Kim Rogerson said: “We are very pleased with the acquisition of Croft Avenue Care Home in Penrith. It is a beautiful home with an exemplary staff team which is a good fit with our existing homes.
“It was a pleasure to work with Kim Klahn and the Clarke Willmott team, who understand the challenge of balancing the legalities of a purchase with a commercial viewpoint.”
