Clarke Willmott Secures Multi-Million Pound Welsh Government Contract

Clarke Willmott LLP has successfully won a tender to provide legal services to the Welsh Government.

The national law firm, which has an office in Cardiff’s Callaghan Square, has been appointed to framework lots valued at over £3 million.

Under the agreement, Clarke Willmott will deliver legal expertise across multiple sectors, including civil and criminal litigation, major ICT and commercial contracts, as well as planning and environmental law.

Clare Gregory, Cardiff Office Head from 1 April and Welsh Government client relationship manager for Clarke Willmott, said: “The Welsh Government has always been a valued client of ours so it is great to have been successful on this latest tender and to be able to continue providing legal services for the devolved government responsible for governing Wales.

“The win demonstrates that existing clients really value the quality of the services that we deliver and our continued support.”

Fraser Macrae, a partner in the Cardiff banking and finance team and the firm’s framework manager for the contract said: “The appointment to Welsh Government’s panel for a wide range of workstreams is a great illustration of the strength and depth we have here at Clarke Willmott, and testament to our commitment to the Welsh economy.”

Clarke Willmott has vast experience in advising on the issues that affect public sector organisations. Clients include government agencies, urban regeneration companies, local authorities, independent public bodies, clinical commissioning groups and police authorities.

With a deep understanding of policy requirements and drivers underlying the public sector’s priorities, negotiating position and decision-making process, the firm takes a pragmatic and commercial approach, always being mindful of the public purse at the same time.

Clarke Willmott is a national law firm with offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Southampton, and Taunton.
