Payne Hicks Beach is delighted to announce that it has acquired the sports practice of Solesbury Gay a niche firm practicing exclusively in the field of sports law. Solesbury Gay partner, Mark Gay, a leading figure in sports litigation, joined Payne Hicks Beach in October and becomes a partner of the firm.
Mark Gay commented: “I am pleased to be joining Payne Hicks Beach, a firm with whom I have had many connections over the years and for whom I have the greatest of professional respect. My aim is to bring the sports practice of Solesbury Gay to Payne Hicks Beach and pull together the strands of existing sports work that the firm currently conducts to establish a leading sports law practice”.
Dominic Crossley, Head of Payne Hicks Beach’s Dispute Resolution Team, commented: “We are truly delighted to have Mark join us and bring his huge experience as a litigator, particularly within the sports sector, to our thriving litigation department. The department’s range of specialisms has grown significantly in the last five years and I expect sports litigation, under Mark’s stewardship, to be amongst the other fields where we are considered by clients as the ‘go to’ firm for the most challenging cases. I would also like to wish Tom Solesbury well with his exciting new role at UK Athletics.”
