Isleworth’s Will Power Estate Protection has teamed up with Cancer Research UK to highlight the importance of leaving a gift in Wills to support ground-breaking cancer research.
With one in two people expected to face a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime,* research into better treatments is more critical than ever. Fortunately, everyone has the power to contribute to the discoveries that will help beat the disease.
To support this mission, Will Power, based on Swan Street in Isleworth, is now providing Cancer Research UK’s Will-writing service. This allows anyone over 18 to write or update their Will, with financial assistance from the charity towards the cost.
Designed to be simple and stress-free, the service is fully supported by Will Power’s expert team, who are available to guide individuals through every step of the process.
Cancer Research UK contributes towards the cost of preparing a Will, encouraging more people to consider leaving a legacy gift to fund vital research into cancer treatment and prevention.
For some, this is a way to celebrate a survivor, whose life was saved through research. For others, it may serve as a heartfelt tribute to honour a loved one they have lost. No matter the reason, these contributions have the potential to drive major breakthroughs in cancer treatment.
Liz Killip, Managing Director of Will Power, spoke about the significance of this initiative:
“Cancer Research UK is the world’s largest charitable funder of cancer research, and we are honoured to become part of the progress that has already seen survival in the UK double in the last 50 years.
“At Will Power, many of us have friends or family who have been affected by this devastating disease. This is a cause close to our hearts, and we are committed to helping the charity beat cancer for future generations.”
Since the mid-1980s, over a million lives have been saved from cancer in the UK.** However, the fight is far from over.
By leaving a gift in their Will, individuals can help accelerate progress in cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, offering hope to thousands of people across South West London and the UK.
Samantha Devlin, Head of Legacies at Cancer Research UK, expressed her appreciation for the partnership, stating:
“We’re delighted to be able to offer our Will-writing service in South West London and work with Will Power to help people make an all-important first Will or update an existing one.
“We’re incredibly grateful that most people who use our Will-writing service choose to leave a gift to Cancer Research UK. In fact, gifts in Wills account for a third of the money we raise to beat the disease.
“Our vision is a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer. It’s thanks to the generosity of our supporters and partners that step by step, day by day, our researchers are making this vision a reality.”
