X-Press Legal Services partners with LMS on law firm identity checking services amid growing financial fraud

  • Through the partnership, X-Press Legal Services will deliver LMS’ confirmly technology to all its clients
  • The confirmly technology will be integrated with X-Press Legal’s own platform to create a seamless service

LMS, the UK’s leading conveyancing services provider, has announced that it has partnered with X-Press Legal Services, a market leader in regulated property searches and reports, to give all its clients access to LMS confirmly, a fast, trusted and secure law firm identity checking technology.

LMS, the UK’s leading conveyancing services provider, has today announced a new partnership with X-Press Legal Services, a market leader in regulated property searches and reports, to deliver confirmly, a fast, trusted and secure law firm identity checking technology to all its clients.

To combat fraud, X-Press Legal Services is now offering its customers access to confirmly through its online ordering platform, ICOS. confirmly allows the provision of real time monitoring to law firms by harnessing LMS Panel Link and specialist data to verify bank account details. It reduces the risks associated with money transfers and allows the quick and easy gathering of information from trusted third party sources.

The integration of the tech into X-Press Legal’s own software will help ensure the benefits of this innovative solution can be delivered to all its law firm users. This is one of many integrations seen this year for LMS confirmly as more conveyancers are seeing the high risk associated with the transfer of funds while the success of the tech in combatting this has become ever more apparent.

Based on October 2022 search results, it has been successful in identifying a 5% ‘No match’ rate and a further 5.5% ‘Match with cautions’ rate, both of which prompt details to be checked before monies are released to ensure customers aren’t losing what could be their life savings to fraud.

Travis Scholes, Commercial Director at LMS, said:

“LMS is committed to making the conveyancing process more secure, especially right now with all the volatility in the market meaning vigilance is more important than ever as fraudsters try to take advantage. As cyber criminals find new, innovative ways to commit these crimes, it’s important that firms are equipped with the right technology to help protect their customers as much as possible.

This is what confirmly is designed to do, and collaborating with X-Press Legal on this integration is a key step in helping even more firms deliver this level of protection and peace of mind.”

Lynne Lister, Managing Director at X-Press Legal Services, adds:

“Customer experience is a huge priority for us and increasing the ease and efficiency with which firms can perform identity checks is a huge part of that. We want the journey to be as seamless as possible while also increasing the security and reliability of bank account checks to stop end borrowers falling foul of fraudsters. LMS confirmly is absolutely pivotal for us in this regard and working with them on implementation couldn’t have been easier.”
