WilmerHale Promotes Lloyd Firth to Partnership in UK White Collar Practice

WilmerHale is delighted to announce that Lloyd Firth, a counsel in the firm’s UK white-collar defense and investigations team, will join the partnership effective January 1, 2025.

Lloyd advises corporate and individual clients on a wide range of international white-collar crime matters, including allegations of fraud, bribery and corruption, insider trading, tax evasion, and money laundering.

He has played a significant role in some of the most prominent and intricate cross-border investigations and enforcement proceedings conducted by agencies such as the SFO, FCA, NCA, Bank of England, HMRC, DOJ, and SEC. Notable cases include the Glencore SFO corporate investigation and resolution, as well as the bribery trial of Romy Andrianarisoa, former Chief of Staff to Madagascar’s President.

Lloyd is ranked as ‘Up and Coming’ by Chambers UK for both Corporate Crime & Investigations and Financial Crime: Individuals, whilst Lexology ranks him as a ‘Future Leader’ for Investigations.

Lloyd’s promotion reflects WilmerHale’s continued investment in its London white collar defence and investigations practice to meet client demand, following the appointment of Richard Burger as a partner last year and Imogen Makin as counsel in January.

Stephen Pollard, partner and co-head of the UK white collar defence and investigations practice at WilmerHale, said:

“I’m delighted to welcome Lloyd to the partnership. Since establishing the London practice in 2012, the goal has been to develop a team to complement WilmerHale’s world-class US investigations practice and promote young talent with a commitment to the highest standard of work. Lloyd’s promotion reinforces our commitment to that goal and builds on the work of the many great lawyers who have learned their craft in the team and helped to create the special culture and strong reputation that we enjoy. Lloyd is a phenomenal lawyer, has acted as a de-facto partner for several years already, and I look forward to continuing to work closely with him.”

Lloyd Firth said:

“I’m thrilled to be joining the partnership. The firm and the team have been my professional home now for almost ten years and it remains a genuine privilege to work every day alongside such talented colleagues on the most challenging, high-stakes investigations, criminal and contentious regulatory matters. I can’t wait to get started, building on the great foundations and contributing to the team’s next chapter.”

Whitney Russell, counsel in Washington D.C. focusing on investigations and criminal litigation, has also been promoted to the partnership.

In total, 14 lawyers across 12 practices and seven offices have been elected as new partners as part of WilmerHale’s annual promotions round.
