Amid rising financial crime in conveyancing, PLS Solicitors chooses LMS confirmly software to minimise risk for clients

  • Partnership will see LMS deliver confirmly, a safe law firm identity checking technology, to check and confirm bank details before money is exchanged
  • Further LMS APIs to be delivered to PLS Solicitors later this year to streamline whole conveyancing process

Today, LMS, the UK’s leading conveyancing services provider, has announced a new partnership with PLS Solicitors, an award-winning property law firm, to integrate confirmly, a fast and secure law firm identity checking technology, with their case management system.

Amid the increasing Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) fines for anti-money laundering (AML) compliance breaches, PLS Solicitors is now leveraging confirmly to provide trusted and real-time monitoring when verifying bank account details.

confirmly minimises the risk of fraud in the transaction process by allowing the firm to verify bank account information in real time. The technology uses LMS’ Panel Link and specialist data, as well as gathering trusted third-party data, to reduce the risk associated with money transfers throughout the conveyancing journey. Identifying potential risk of fraud before funds are released means details can be re-checked to prevent borrowers falling victim to fraudsters.

This collaboration is proof of LMS’ commitment to driving widespread adoption of technology across the industry, working in conjunction with its clients to ensure the best possible outcomes are delivered.

Travis Scholes, Commercial Director at LMS, said:

“Fraud and money laundering has always been present in the sector, not only affecting borrowers but also law firms that are later faced with fines. LMS is continuously working alongside law firms to develop technology that ensures a smooth conveyancing journey while offering peace of mind and we’re looking forward to seeing great results for PLS Solicitors.”

Dean Carruthers, Head of Operations at PLS Solicitors, adds:

“Our customers’ conveyancing journey is important to us, not only in terms of quality of service but also for safety and reliability. Fraudsters continue to become more sophisticated in their methods and by working with providers like LMS and its innovative product, confirmly, we have further endorsed our security processes, giving us the peace of mind that our customers are secure.”
